Laser 101 - Cutting and Etching
This class will teach you the basics of using the Epilog Mini and Helix as well as CorelDraw.
What will I make? You will cut and etch on a piece of wood and etch on acrylic. Materials will be provided for the student.
Are there prerequisites? No
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 15 years old to attend this class. If attendee is under the age of 18 years old, then a guardian must also be present for the class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $20.
Upon completion of this class you may book time to use the Epilog Helix or Mini at any time.
Laser 201 - Rotary Attachment
This class will teach you how to use the rotary attachment on the Epilog Mini and Helix as well as CorelDraw.
What will I make? This will change from class to class. You will learn how to etch on objects such as wine bottles, cups, and even a flashlight.
Are there prerequisites? Yes, you must have had Laser 101 in order to attend this class.
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 15 years old to attend this class. If attendee is under the age of 18 years old, then a guardian must also be present for the class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $20.
Upon completion of this class you may book time to use the Epilog Helix or Mini and use the rotary attachment at any time.
Laser 301 - Epilog Fusion (Big Laser)
This class will teach you the basics of using the Epilog Fusion M2 60W laser (big laser). Please note that CorelDraw will not be covered.
What will I make? You will use the laser to cut on or etch on a material. This class will mainly focus on the laser and will be less focused on Corel Draw than Laser 101.
Are there prerequisites? Yes, Laser 101 and 20 hours of use on the 40W and 50W lasers.
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 18 years old to attend this class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $20.

WS 101 - Wood Shop Basics
This class will teach you the safety and expectations of the Maker13 wood shop. This class is required for all wood shop users. You will also learn the basics of the table saw, miter saw, band saw, hand power tools, and the dust collection system.
What will I make? You will use a combination of the tools to build a small frame.
Are there prerequisites? No.
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 16 years old to attend this class. If attendee is under the age of 18 years old, then a guardian must also be present for the class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $20.
Upon completion of this class you may book time in the wood shop to utilize the table saw, band saw, miter saw, hand power tools, and basic hand tools.
WS 201- Planer and Jointer
This class will teach you the basics and safety for using the Planer and Jointer.
What will I make? You will use a combination of the tools to work on a small project.
Are there prerequisites? Yes, you must have completed WS 101- Wood Shop Basics.
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 18 years old to attend this class.

Upon completion of this class you may book time in the wood shop to utilize the planer and jointer.
WS 301 - ShopBot CNC Router
This class will teach you the basics and safety for using the CNC Router Table (ShopBot).
What will I make? You will use the ShopBot to make wooden sign.
Are there prerequisites? Yes, you must have completed WS 101- Wood Shop Basics.
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 16 years old to attend this class. If attendee is under the age of 18 years old, then a guardian must also be present for the class.

Upon completion of this class you may book time in the wood shop to utilize the ShopBot CNC Router.
WS 401 - Wood Lathe
This class will teach the basic use of the Jet Lathe. You will learn the safety aspects of the machine, as well as, how to mount material and remove it.
Are there any tools required? Tools will be provided for the class, but you may purchase your own set. There is a set at Harbor Freight that is acceptable and low cost. Here is the link:

VW 101 - Vinyl Cut, Print, and Press
This class will teach you the basics to set up a print job on the large format printer and transfer a job to the vinyl cutter. We will cover how to use the heat press as well.
What will I make? You will create a 3x3 Maker13 sticker that will be printed and cut. If you have a logo or other image you would like to use for this project, please bring that with you on a thumb drive. Time to edit this image will be limited.

Upon completion of this class you may book time to use the PrismJet large format printer, the Puma Vinyl cutter, and the EnduraPress heat press.
Embroidery 101
This class will teach you the basics of using the Melco EMT16 embroidery machine (16 needle). Learn about the needles, set-up, loading materials, and more.
What will I make? You will be shown how to load a file, and add text to the image. This will be done on a shirt or loose material.

Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 15 years old to attend this class. If the attendee is under the age of 18 years old, then a guardian must also be present for the class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $30.
Upon completion of this class you may book time to use the Melco Embroidery machine at any time.
MS 302/303 - MIG/TIG Welding
This class will teach you the basics of using the Lincoln Electric Welder for MIG and/or TIG welding. Learn about safety, proper set-up, and operation of the machine.
What will I make? You will be welding two pieces of steel together.
Are there prerequisites? No
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 16 years old to attend this class. If attendee is under the age of 18 years old, then a guardian must also be present for the class.
Additional safety requirements: Safety glasses are always suggested when working in the shop, and are required for this class. You must wear closed-toed shoes in order to attend this class. Clothes must be made of natural fibers or leather (including your shoes), and it is mandatory to wear a long sleeve shirt and pants. Welding helmet will be provided, and gloves will be available. It is not a requirement, but we do recommend hearing protection, a respirator, and clothes specifically made for welding.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $50.

MS 101 - Sheet Metal Basics
This class will teach you the basics and safety for using the box pan and break, metal shear stomp, drill press, hand notcher, and basic hand tools.
What will I make? You will use a combination of the tools to make a small sheet metal business card box.
Are there prerequisites? No
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 18 years old to attend this class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $30.
Upon completion of this class you may book time in the wood shop to utilize the box pan and break, metal shear, drill press, hand notcher, and basic hand tools.
MS 301 - Metal Lathe
This class will teach you the basics and safety for using the Jet Metal Lathe.
Are there prerequisites? No
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 18 years old to attend this class.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $50.
Upon completion of this class you may book time on the metal lathe.
MS 305 - Mill Basics
This class will teach you the basics of using the vertical mill by showing you how to change speeds, change end mills, tighten down your material, and how to use the digital readout. Machine safety will also be covered.
What will I make? This will depend on the instructor, but your project will consist of machining down an aluminum or steel block, and placing slots and holes in it according to the provided print.
Are there prerequisites? MS 101 is recommended, but is not required.
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 18 years old to attend this class.
Additional safety requirements: Safety glasses are required. No loose clothing or jewelry of any type. Long hair must be placed up or in a ponytail.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $50.
Upon completion of this class you may book time to use the Jet Vertical Mill at any time.
Electronic 101
This class will teach you the basics of soldering.
What will I make? You will be shown how to solder a connector to a board, and make an electronic circuit with LED's.
Are there prerequisites? No
Is there an age restriction? You must be at least 11 years old to attend this class. If attendee is under the age of 17 years old, then their guardian must stay with them and help with the use of the soldering iron.
What is the cost of this class? This class has a one-time fee of $20.
